Gregory Marc Dean, affectionately known as “Greg”, was born on March 27, 1955, in
Miami, Florida, to Helen Payne and George A. Dean, both of whom preceded him in
death. He was lovingly raised by his late stepfather, Clyde Rudolph McCartney. Greg
was proceeded in death by his son, David Marc Dean Sr.
Greg accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Agnes’ Episcopal Church in Miami,
Florida. He later became a member of True Divine Worship Church where he was a part
of the praise and worship team until his health begin to decline.
Greg was a proud graduate of Miami Central Senior High School. At the age of twenty,
on January 2, 1975 Greg enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps, and ranked as a Corporal .
He was also a member of American Legion post 163. He dedicated much of his life to
serving the Miami-Dade community, where he worked as a correctional officer for
Miami-Dade County, Miami Dade County school bus and a bus driver for Miami-Dade
County Transit, from which he retired.
He enjoyed attending church services, reading the bible and books, singing, watching
sports (football and tennis) and spending time with veterans. Greg will be remembered
for his kindness, strong work ethic, and the love he had for his family and friends.
On March 2, 2025, God plucked his beautiful rose and placed him back in his garden.
He leaves behind cherished memories with those who knew and loved him.
Greg leaves to cherish his precious memories survived by four daughters: Kysha
Stephens (Ernest Stephens), Deidra Dean, Deandrea Dean, Deshai Singleton (Martyn
Singleton); two sons: Deon Dean and Donnavan Dean; Grandkids: Alyssa King, David
Dean Jr., Trinyah Dean, Ashanti Lott, Jayden Lott, Dominic Rodriguez, Willie Azmoe,
Shannon King, Jah’ki Harrison, Faith Dean, Maria Gibbson, Serenity Bryant, Dylin
Dean, Dariellie Bryant, and one great grandson David Marc Dean III, a great host of
uncles, aunts, cousins and sorrow friends.
